Meet your Cardiff counsellor at Willow Tree; Sam Osman
I am Sam, a humanistic and existential counsellor in Cardiff with strong roots in trauma informed practice. At the heart of my work is respect for your lived experience, and I offer a safe space where you can feel listened to, understood, and able to be yourself.
Humanistic existential counselling provides a supportive way to explore your experiences, emotions, and sense of self without focusing on labels or diagnoses. Instead, we work with how you experience your world, your relationships, and the challenges you are facing, recognising both personal and wider social influences.
My approach is warm, calm, and collaborative. I am naturally curious and, at times, gently direct, always with care and compassion. Counselling sessions at Willow Tree last 50 minutes and will move at your own pace, with no pressure to talk about anything before you feel ready.
I work with people aged 16 and over, supporting a range of common mental health difficulties and trauma related experiences. Therapy, to me, is not about fixing you, but about creating space for understanding, growth, and healing.
My counsellor training
I trained at Cardiff and Vale College, where I achieved a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I am currently completing a Foundation Degree in Counselling, with a focus on mental health and mental health in society. I am a registered member of the BACP and work in line with their ethical framework.
